Somewhere in Taranaki...(possibly a seaside town on the coast..)
Suitable for absolute novices; intermediate school age right through to 'experienced' adults. All levels of skill/ fitness will be catered for- first timers, training for a 6 hour (or much longer!) race/ event.
Teams of 2, 3, or 4, male/female or mixed, family.
The clover leaf design means all activities start and finish from the same central point, meaning a support crew is not necessary. The terrain will include light bush, farmland, walkways and urban surrounds. Heaps of 'Rogaine' meaning optional checkpoints you can get in any order.
The race will include Trekking (walk/ run), Mountain Biking (walkways, roads, easy off road) Navigation- with colour maps, plenty of Mystery Activities including water activities
Super Early Bird- Dec 17 until Jan 10th- $65 adult, $40 students
Standard Rate- Jan 11th until Feb 4th- $75 adult, $45 students
Late Bird Rate: Feb 5th until Race Day- $85 adult, $50 students
You will need: mountain bike and helmet, running shoes, active wear, thermal top, rain jacket, change of clothes. Food and drink. One cell phone. Compass. Backpack to carry it all in.
Follow all rules as set by the race director. Teams must stick together (within 50 metres) at all times. No GPS allowed. Race starts at 9am and finishes at 12pm- with a complementary sausage sizzle and drink. Spot prizes and short prize-giving will follow.
Dec 15th, 2024- Bell Block - a scorcher of day navigating around Bell Block, Waiwhakaiho, Lake Rotomanu, Fitzroy and East End beaches. Plenty of mystery activities to keep the fun levels high!
Feb 11th, 2024- Arawhata Road- cracker day to explore the lahars and bush bits of a couple of cool as farms! A few gorgeous little pockets of mud and swampy goodness for all to enjoy...
